What is Neuroplasticity?
Neuroplasticity is the ability of the brain to allow us to learn and adapt to our environment. Scientists who have been studying the brain now have a more in-depth understanding of the brain’s neuroplasticity, and how it works: We now know that we can shift our thinking.
Research shows we can actively affect how our brains rewire themselves to create new neural networks and override preexisting ones.

So how does this happen?
During hypnosis, we’re able to access our own neural networks and neurons, and let the subconscious know we don’t need a particular habit anymore. We can communicate to ourselves what habit we would like to create instead; neuroplasticity allows us to do this, rewiring the neurons.
When we are experiencing a block in our lives, particular neural networks light up.
Neuroplasticity can be created by interrupting those networks with positive new thoughts and visuals. The idea is that the brain reframes the block and begins to create new audio and visuals the next time the trigger for the block appears.

In tandem with hypnosis, I teach my clients neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) and REBT( Rational Emotional Behavioural Therapy) tools, interruption techniques, and self-hypnosis amongst other techniques depending on whats required so they can navigate their everyday life smoothly after a session. NLP is a method of influencing brain behavior, through the use of language and other types of communication, to enable a person to recode the way the brain responds to stimuli, and manifest new and better behaviors.
NLP often incorporates hypnosis and self-hypnosis to help achieve the change (or “programming”) that is wanted.
It does require some “homework” on your behalf
Clients find themselves living in a new pattern, which is further strengthened as they consciously work to change their thinking around a particular issue.
Through this cognitive work, neural networks change, resulting in a different, healthier response to a particular situation.

What is REBT ( Rational Emotional Behavioural Therapy)
Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) is a short-term form of therapy that helps you identify self-defeating thoughts and feelings, challenge the rationality of those feelings, and replace them with healthier, more productive beliefs. REBT focuses mostly on the present time to help you understand how unhealthy thoughts and beliefs create emotional distress which, in turn, leads to unhealthy actions and behaviors that interfere with your current life goals.
Once identified and understood, negative thoughts and actions can be changed and replaced with more positive and productive behavior, allowing you to develop more successful personal and professional relationships.
What to Expect
To help you manage and overcome difficulties or achieve life goals, I will work with you to identify the beliefs and rigid thought patterns that are holding you hostage.
We will look at how these possibly irrational thoughts may be harming you.
Through a variety of mental exercises, you will then learn how to reduce your negative thoughts and responses, and replace them with healthier, more constructive and self-accepting thoughts. REBT makes use of a variety of methods and tools, including positive visualization, reframing your thinking, and the use of customised audio-hypno meditation guides, as well as assigned homework for reinforcement between sessions.
