Overcome Insecurity in Your Relationships

insecurity.png with kimberley stapleton mind body soul spirit

How to use Hypnotherapy to conquer your fears so you can enjoy your life together

Is your insecurity in relationships threatening to ruin a specific relationship?

Does your fear it will all go wrong lead you to sabotage your chances?

Why relationship insecurity is so painful

Relationships are the most important thing for most people, so it's no surprise that we feel a certain amount of anxiety when we suspect that a relationship is under threat, or when we can't bring ourselves to really believe that this other person truly loves us.

Of course, no relationship is completely trouble free. There will be arguments, there will be stresses and pressures, there will be tough times. But you hope that a well-founded relationship will be strong enough to carry you through such tests.

Past history can contribute to relationship insecurity

The trouble is, sometimes, perhaps because of previous bad experiences you've had, the level of anxiety you feel about your relationship can get so high that the anxiety itself starts to generate problems.

It becomes a cause of trouble rather than a consequence of trouble. And then you really are in trouble, caught in a spiral of painful emotion that leads you to interpret every single thing as a sign that the end is nigh.

Even if it isn't.

How can you calm down your fears so that you can relax with your partner and roll with life's challenges together?

How hypnotherapy can help you feel more secure

The emotions that drive that feeling of insecurity come from your unconscious mind. In other words, you don't decide to feel that way.

And so, to address them, we need to work directly with the unconscious, which is where hypnotherapy comes in.

As you relax and listen in your session, you'll experience profound changes taking place within you. In particular, you'll notice that:

  • you can 'step back' and see the relationship as a whole

  • you feel less need to control everything about the relationship

  • you focus more on the positive aspects

  • you can cope more easily with the ups and downs

  • you relax and enjoy yourself much more with your partner.

How to be more spontaneous and liberate the inner you

spontaneous.png with kimberley stapleton mind body soul spirit

Hypnotherapy can help you reconnect with your intuition

Wouldn't it be great to be more spontaneous and free in life?

To break out of dull dreary trudging along 'doing what's expected'?

The first rule of life is: Survive!

That's obvious, of course, but we often completely overlook just how much this fundamental rule dictates what we do, or think we can do. To survive among other people, you do have to get along with them. This means you have to learn, and abide by, the social 'rules' that prevail around you. These rules come from your family and the society you live in. Some are set in laws, and some are unspoken conventions.

It's not necessarily a bad thing to have 'rules' about what you can and can't say, what you can and can't do.

Too much living by rules can stifle spontaneity

Life's easier when everybody knows what's expected of them, when we all know how to get along without upsetting others too much. But we can give too much importance to following rules. When this happens, we quash our natural responses and enthusiasms. We never allow ourselves to follow an impulse or do anything 'wild'. We can't risk being creative, for fear of some kind of social or family disapproval.

And that's when life can turn dull, dull, dull. Nothing but ticking the right boxes to be whatever happens to be considered 'good' in your particular social setting. It takes all the fun and adventure out of life. It becomes hard to motivate yourself about anything, because it feels like you can never do anything new or interesting.

But it doesn't have to be like that!

Hypnotherapy can help you rediscover your natural creativity in life

A Hypnotherapy session will reconnect you with your natural instincts and creativity and reignite the spark of your life.

As you relax and listen , you'll find that you

  • feel a tremendous surge of freedom welling up inside

  • become hugely curious to know where this will lead you

  • reconnect with your deepest instincts and impulses

  • start to trust your intuitive creative self more and more

  • find yourself trying new things and feeling much more engaged with life

  • enjoy life a whole lot more!

How Hypnotherapy Can Help You With Stress And Anxiety

hypnoanxiety.png with kimberley stapleton mind body soul spirit

Stress can be defined as a state we experience when there is a mismatch between perceived demands and our perceived ability to cope.

Stress can also be defined as an adaptive response by a body to change in the environment. Stress response, evolved to enable humans to deal with life-threatening dangers or stressors such as being confronted with a wild animal or perhaps a hostile human. Situations like this required action – the activation of stress response to wither stay and fight or to run away.

Today we hopefully won’t have to face the same dangers as our ancestors but the stress response to demanding situations we face is still with us and our mind and body still prepare for fight or flight when confronted with this equivalent of the wild animal.

This is where the problem may begin, as activation of the fight or flight response with no physical outlet, such as if we are stuck in a traffic jam and can’t fight it or flee it, or maybe an unfair confrontation in the workplace, where once again the response for action may be triggered but we cant vent it by fighting or running away without consequences we would rather avoid.

Perhaps both of these events and more are experienced on the same day, perhaps every day, and the stress builds within us until it can damage our health if a solution is not found

Stress isn’t always bad – the stress response was designed to help and protect us and some people even place themselves in stressful situations they know they can handle for excitement and ‘the rush’ as it is often called.

We all experience stress in different ways depending upon our personality type, conditioning and possible training.

When we face a stressor but perceive we have the ability to deal with it successfully a feeling of success and achievement can be gained. Getting the balance right between good stress to motivate us and encourage us to grow, and our ability to cope with the stress is possibly the key to remaining healthy, positive and active in whatever arena of life we find ourselves.

Our ability to cope with stress can be affected by our diet and the intake of good substances that out body needs to remain strong and flexible and to repair itself when needed. Also we should avoid anything that could cause us to be more stressed or weaker such as drugs, alcohol, smoking etc.

Finally, stress can be external, an event or situation that is causing stress, or internal, attitudes or emotions that lead to stress (anxiety, guilt, low self esteem, fear, etc).

What is the Fight/Flight Response? Why do we still have it?

The ‘Fight or Flight Response’ is a physiological reaction and is the body’s response to a stressor.

Changes in hormones prepare a person to either stay and deal with a stressor or to take flight/run away. This immediate state of alarm is when the body prepares to take action, and in this state a person will be extremely alert to their surroundings but also very anxious and possibly unable to concentrate.

The body will slow down systems not vital in responding to the stressor, such as the digestive system, which is why a person in a fight or flight situation may have a dry mouth and a nervous/upset stomach. The body will make other preparations such as improved cooling for the body as more energy is used and this will result in perspiration.

The fight or flight response is a very old and very basic response and has been with us for a very long time. It was originally a response to danger that would prepare our ancestors to fight the wild beast or the enemy who might suddenly threaten or confront them, or to take flight and literally run away from the danger.

This response is triggered when we send a message of alarm to a part of the brain called the hypothalamus. This area of the brain will then send a signal to the glands to release adrenaline, cortisol and endorphin into the blood stream.

Increased levels of adrenaline increase heart rate and blood flow which in turn brings extra oxygen and glucose to the muscles. Cortisol causes an increase in amino-acids and sugars in the blood.

Amino-acids are crucial for the repair and recovery of damaged tissues which may occur under stress and the blood sugar adds to the availability of glucose (fuel) for the body.

The release of endorphin, which is a morphine like substance only more powerful, provides the body’s natural tranquilizing system. Pain is blocked and a feeling of euphoria may be experienced, both helping to get the body through the situation it may find itself in due to stress.

We still have this response, as it is still necessary to prepare and protect us in times of alarm, such as being involved in an emergency situation of any kind, or being confronted with any form of potentially life threatening danger.

Once the initial stages of this fight or flight response are over, a person will have a psychological reaction to the stressor which will be based upon many variables including, personality type, conditioning, age, physical and mental ability, and their knowledge relevant to the situation to be dealt with.

It is very often the resulting symptoms of this fight or flight response kicking in that we tend to call a panic attack.. What actually happens is that we may be in a situation where we can’t fight or flight, such as a meeting or on a train, and so we become more and more anxious and may feel as though we will pass out, or be sick, or any one of a number of responses.

What often happens then, is we find we have a desperate need to urinate, and that is another way the subconscious mind will sometimes attempt to gain our attention and force us to leave the arena in which we find ourselves at the time.

It is normally the feeling of not being able to escape, and knowing that we might have this strong feeling to fight or flight that causes much of the anxiety and expectation of problems for most people who find they need help to overcome their problem.

Also, many people….no…that should be most people who suffer from panic attacks and anxiety will normally have the need for some Obsessive compulsive actions in their life…it can often be a type of coping, or controlling strategy.

Why hypnotherapy is totally different from any other form of therapy?

Hypnotherapy is different from any other form of therapy because of the way in which the therapy part happens while one is in hypnosis.

Put another way, hypnotherapy is a very effective combination of hypnosis, a trance or altered state of mind and deep relaxation, and the chosen therapy, which might be for example; suggestion therapy, REBT, energy therapy, regression, ego states therapy, neuro-linguistic-programming or hypnoanalysis.

Hypnosis allows an individual to enter a state of deep relaxation which in itself is a very useful therapy for combating stress. It also allows you to become calm and focused, as all parts of your mind work together and concentrate on solving the problem at hand, and therefore making the very best use of the chosen therapy as it is applied.

Why it is so helpful in cases of stress, anxiety and panic attacks?

Hypnosis is a state in which the conscious critical faculty is temporarily suspended or distracted and in which all parts of the mind work in harmony for the good of the whole being.

When in hypnosis an individual can become very relaxed and at the same time very aware and ‘sharp’, mentally focused.

For the computer literate, I would liken hypnosis to the ‘safe mode’ on a computer, where if a part of the system is acting up or malfunctioning, placing the system in safe mode allows for investigation and repair to be carried out safely while minimising the risk to the normal operating systems.

In some sports it would be like a ‘time-out’, where all parts of the team come together briefly to review the current state of play, to identify where poor choices may have affected the outcomes and to choose a new strategy to move forward with.

In the normal hurly burly of life we seldom have time to take a time out, or to go into safe mode to pull together our resources and to calmly take stock and plan our best way forward.

Hypnosis then, is a safe, relaxing state in which we can let go the tensions in and around you for a short period, and in which, if we desire it, a skilled therapist with many therapy tools, can guide you through the stages of investigation, discovery, planning and repair we may need.

Hypnotherapy therefore provides relaxation (and clients of good therapists are given various tools to learn self-hypnosis so they can find this deep relaxation for themselves) and is therefore useful at even this basic level, as a kind of first aid.

The good therapist will help you to find any repressed emotions, triggers and false instincts from the past that are a kind of out-of-date, erroneous, or maybe just no longer wanted or needed programming, that loops around once triggered to cause us much anxiety and feelings of panic, but we often don’t know why.

Following this, the wonderful power of hypnotic suggestion, Neuro-Linguistic programming and various other techniques will be used to provide new and efficient programming to support moves forward into a much more positive life with a better outlook on everything..

Ready To Change ?? .. Why See A Holistic Hypnotherapist?

hypnotherapy.png with kimberley stapleton mind body soul spirit

Why does change, at times, seem so difficult?

Why can’t we just make up our minds to change patterns of behaviours, thoughts, and emotions and have it happen that quickly?

The ‘Holy Grail’ of change work, (whether it be self-help, or through utilizing a coach or therapist, can rectify years of habitual behaviour patterns in a few short sessions..

Oh, and while we’re at it let’s make those moments comfortable and relaxing.

Let’s look for a moment at a possible reason why change doesn’t always occur that easily (in fact rarely) and why holistic hypnotherapy might be a possible candidate for that Grail.

Your entire magnificent body/mind system sails through life performing an astronomical number of simultaneous tasks. Barring emergencies, your heart never stops beating, your lungs never stop operating, you metabolize the food you eat, and maintain a body temperature of 98.6 regardless of your environment.

And, that is just a tip of the physiological iceberg of ongoing vital functions. Yet you only become aware of these processes if there is a problem. Otherwise they thankfully require no attention. These processes are part of your vast ‘unconscious’.

Included in this ever ongoing party of physiological processes beneath your awareness, or consciousness, are all of your brain’s functions, including language, proprioception (sense of your body and it’s position), emotional responses, etc., etc. There is, of course, no clear dividing line between physical and mental processes, and we are blissfully unaware of the overwhelmingly vast majority of them.

Now, specifically regarding behaviours. Most of our behaviours seem to be picked up unconsciously from our environment. Perhaps we are born with the tendency toward some behaviours, the jury is still out on that regard, but whether nature or nurture, the acquisition of behaviour is predominantly unconscious.

How many times, as we mature, do we marvel at how much our behaviours (particularly speech patterns) resemble our parent’s patterns, often in spite of our best efforts. These are behaviours we unconsciously picked up from our environment as we developed.

What then, is our conscious mind, and what is it’s scope? What’s left?

Research has repeatedly shown that we can generally only be aware of, or conscious of, seven plus or minus two pieces of information at any one time.

As glorious as our conscious mind is, it is so severely limited in the volume of information it can handle, that, in most cases, it is unable to have much of an effect on our overall behaviour.

Our conscious mind can manage momentary adjustments of behaviour at best. In fact, I suggest that the main purpose of the conscious mind is to handle the necessary small bits of information we receive just until we can process them into our much more able ‘unconscious mind’.

Think about how we learn new things.

Take riding a bike, for example. At first, when we climb on that wobbly two wheeled device, we have more things to attend to than we could possibly consciously handle—balance, speed, avoiding oncoming obstacles, and so on.

We end up falling down a lot. However, we keep at it, and one day, success! We can climb on the bike and ride, virtually without a conscious thought about balance, speed, avoiding obstacles, and all of those other innumerable matters connected with bike riding.

We say we’ve learned to ride a bike. What we mean is, riding a bike is now an unconscious behaviour, and our conscious mind is free to think of other things while we ride.

Once we learn something, once it becomes accepted as an unconscious behaviour, it usually stays with us for life. That’s a wonderful thing for habits like bike riding and learning to read.

It sometimes becomes a bit of a problem when we have learned behaviours like smoking or phobic responses. It seems as though, once a behaviour is learned, we unconsciously assign a value to it (we did, after all, work hard to learn to smoke for whatever reason we had at the time). To later try to change that learned habit challenges those initial reasons and values, and seems to violate the integrity of the unconscious.

Trying to consciously change a habit, like smoking, is like trying to swim upstream against an overwhelming current. With smoking, in my experience, the habit is much more difficult to break than the chemical addiction.

Hypnotherapy to the rescue.

There is one method of interpersonal communication that does allow access to the normally unavailable unconscious processes, and that method is hypnosis.

Hypnosis simply creates a doorway to the unconscious part of our mind. A qualified hypnotist can establish communication with the part of your unconscious mind that maintains the habitual behaviour you want to change.

Sometimes through simple suggestion (new information) and sometimes through a more complex conversation with that unconscious part of your mind/body that controls the problematic habit, a hypnotherapist can literally change the course of that mighty unconscious river. Once that occurs, change results as easily as floating downstream on a sun-drenched inner tube.

Holistic Hypnotherapy is the customised use of Hypnosis coupled with REBT, NLP & Neuroplasticy & other Techniques by a qualified therapist .. is that “Holy Grail” of personal change.

And you don’t get much more qualified than Kimberley !! :)

Transform a stressful christmas into a relaxed one

xmas stress.png with kimberley stapleton mind body soul spirit

Survive the festive season with relaxing Hypnotherapy

Christmas is a meant to be a time of togetherness with family, fun, joy and selfless thought towards others. But so often Christmas can just seem like another major life stress. Why should this be?

What makes Christmas stressful?

First there's the preparation, the shopping in frenzied, crowded stores people pushing and shoving and you worrying whether so and so will like the present you've bought them. Then there's the cooking and organising and of course the financial strain that the extra cost of Christmas entails. Many of us get seriously in debt (or more in debt) after the Christmas holiday. But the biggest stress of Christmas comes from the very essence of what Christmas is supposed to be all about - other people.

The nightmare before, during and after Christmas

The biggest stress of Christmas can come from the friction caused by family members getting together over the festive season. You may feel like a referee as relatives battle, argue and fight there way through what is meant to be an enjoyable time. You may end up dreading Christmas and of course the more you dread Christmas the more likely you are to get really stressed out by Christmas.

Why do we become stressed by Christmas?

We become stressed by anything that seems to exceed our ability to cope and causes stress hormone levels to rise in our bloodstream. A Hypnotherapy session will relax you deeply and prepare your mind to feel calm about the prospect of Christmas. You'll find yourself feeling more relaxed during the holiday season and actually enjoying Christmas.

Hypnotherapy for Personal Development – Is the Truth Within or Without?

personal development.png with kimberley stapleton mind body soul spirit

Hypnotherapy for personal development? - I hear you ask.

My answer, why not? There is no reason that hypnotherapy cannot help you become a more evolved person.

Most of us today are under constant pressure to perform better, to look cool, and to be successful. There are hundreds of forces working on us at all times to shape our own identity in our own eyes.

Today, there are millions of people who suffer from low self confidence, low self esteem; there are thousands of youngsters who live with a negative self image for years, and worse still when they grow up those ideas that they have harboured all those years become so inimitable that it is almost impossible for them to overcome it.

Here’s where hypnotherapy for personal development comes in. Recent research has found that hypnotherapy is a very effective means of personality development, and that it affects virtually every aspect of human lives.

Through hypnotherapy and the various other therapies I combine with hypnotherapy you can cure yourself of anxiety and nervousness; you can work towards thwarting self doubt and become more confident.

You can use hypnotherapy to lose weight and look better; you can use hypnotherapy to increase your creativity and improve upon your public speaking skills.

Does it seem that hypnotherapy is actually too good to be true?

With over 30 years experience as a hypnotherapist, I 110% believe as long as its used by a properly trained, qualified and experienced therapist who can also call upon other therapeutic tools that hypnotherapy is the foundation and structure for incredible personal change and evolvement .

Once you realize the potential of hypnotherapy for personal development, you can work wonders with it. With the help of a qualified hypnotherapist such as myself, you can journey to the centre of your subconscious mind. Which is where permanent changes, whether, physical, emotional, behavioural or spiritual take place.

What are the areas that hypnotherapy for personal development can help me?

It really depends upon what areas you want to improve upon.

Hypnotherapy’s arena is nearly limitless, because it deals with a magnificent mechanism in our body called the brain. If you can train your subconscious to think, feel and therefore react a certain way, there is no end to possibilities of the changes you can bring about.

It can help you in increasing your mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health and wellbeing .

It can help you get better scores in your pop-quizzes, or help you crack more deals with your clients. It can help you have a more enriching relationship with your spouse, or increase the level of your creativity.

Let me give you an example. Let’s say that going through hypnotherapy for personal development is like going deep sea diving.

Like deep sea diving, hypnotherapy takes you to the deepest recesses of your conscious, sub conscious, unconscious and superconscious mind to find your true self.

In diving you jump in to witness the exotic marine life, explore the sea bed and if possible come back with a treasure. Similarly hypnotherapy takes you on a dive to discover yourself, see the way your mind functions, make any changes or heal any parts you would like to , and come back with a brighter, more authentic you!

Love Addiction, Approval Addiction

approval.png with kimberley stapleton mind body soul spirit

In my experience as a counsellor & Hypnotherapist for 35 years, I have found that love addiction and approval addiction are far more prevalent than any other substance or process addictions. We live in a love-addicted, approval-addicted society.

What does it mean to be love/approval addicted? Below is a checklist for you to see if you are addicted to love and/or approval. Believing any of these may indicate love or approval addiction.

I believe that:

* My happiness and wellbeing are depended upon getting love from another person.

* My adequacy, lovability, and feelings of self-worth and self-esteem come from others liking me and approving of me.

* Others disapproval or rejection mean that I’m not good enough.

* I can’t make myself happy.

* I can’t make myself as happy as someone else can.

* My best feelings come from outside myself, from how other people or a particular other person sees me and treats me.

* Others are responsible for my feelings. Therefore, if someone cares about me, he or she will never do anything that hurts or upsets me.

* I can’t be alone. I feel like I’ll die if I’m alone.

* When I’m hurt or upset, it’s someone else’s fault.

* It’s up to other people to make me feel good about myself by approving of me.

* I’m not responsible for my feelings. Other people make me feel happy, sad, angry, frustrated, shut down, or depressed. When I’m angry, someone makes me feel that way and is responsible for fixing my feelings.

* I’m not responsible for my behaviour. Other people make me yell, act crazy, get sick, laugh, cry, get violent, leave, or fail.

* Others are selfish if they do what they want instead of what I want or need.

* If I’m not connected to someone, I will die.

* I can’t handle my pain, especially the pain of disapproval, rejection, abandonment, the pain of being shut out - the pain of isolation and loneliness.

Living as a love or approval addict is a very hard way to live. You have to constantly make sure you say the right thing, do the right, and look right in order to get the needed love and approval. Your feelings are on a roller coaster – from feeling the wonderful feelings that come from getting your love or approval “fix” to feeling the despair that comes when your “supply” – the source of your love and approval - shuts down, gets angry or judgmental, or goes away.

THE UNDERLYING CAUSE OF LOVE AND APPROVAL ADDICTION

Love and approval addiction is rooted in self-abandonment. Imagine the feeling part of you as a child – your inner child. When you are love or approval addicted, you have handed your inner child away for adoption.

Instead of learning to take responsibility for your own happiness by loving and approving of yourself, you have handed your inner child away to others for love and approval – making others responsible for your feelings. This inner self-abandonment will always cause the deep pain of low self-worth, making you dependent upon others for your sense of worth.

The sad thing about all of this is that love is the most abundant thing in the universe. We live in a sea of love – it is always within us and all around us. It is our Source. When you learn to open to re connect with your inner child you become filled with love, with peace, with joy. The empty place within that yearns to be filled becomes so filled with love that it overflows to others. You find yourself desiring to give love rather than always trying to get it.

As long as you make others your Source, you will not find the love, peace and joy that you seek. By learning and practicing the Inner Child Bonding process that I teach, you can learn to fill yourself with love and heal your love and approval addictions.

Are you love or approval addicted? The above checklist will help you to determine your level of love or approval addiction.

If You feel that this is you and would like to talk then;

How to Get Your Drive Back

inspiration.png with kimberley stapleton, mind body soul spirit

Using Hypnotherapy to naturally restore your energy and enthusiasm for life

Are you feeling dull, listless and uninspired, even though you can't point to any specific 'problem'?

Do you get a sense of everything having turned flat and uninteresting, even things that you used to enjoy and get enthused about?

Everybody has 'down times' when life just feels more of a struggle than usual, even if you have no major 'problems' going on. That's a normal part of life and usually we get past such episodes and life picks up again and we forget all about it.

But sometimes the greyness and dullness can hang around rather too long and then you may well begin to wonder what's up.

Check the basics first if you want to get your drive back

It's always a good idea to go back to basics first. Are you getting enough decent sleep? Exercise? Relaxation? What are you eating (and drinking) every day?

These things have a huge influence on your mood and energy levels and are out of kilter, you may need to make adjustments to re-establish a reasonably healthy lifestyle for yourself. You may also want to check in with your doctor to rule out medical factors.

Your psychological state is also a major influence on drive

But your mood and motivation depend on more than your physical state. In fact, even if your physical state is excellent, psychological factors can plunge you into gloom and deprive you of all enthusiasm and energy. So it is essential to ensure that your emotional and mental states are also working well together if you want to get the most out of life.

This doesn't necessarily mean that you need to sign up for therapy right now. It means that you need to understand the simple psychological principles that influence how much you enjoy life and how much energy you can give to what you do. And you need to apply them in the same way that you look after other elements of your lifestyle.

What's the quickest and easiest way to get that sorted?

Why hypnotherapy is a powerful way to get your drive back

  • your energy levels rise

  • you feel a stronger sense of autonomy and ability to make choices

  • you understand more deeply what is really important to you

  • you are motivated to take concrete positive steps in pursuit of goals

  • you get passionate again about old (and new) interests

Beat Sleep Anxiety the Natural Way

Hypnosis for sleep with kimberley stapleton mind body soul spirit

Calm the worries that keep you up at night

Do you worry that you won't be able to get to sleep?

And does this worry end up making sleep even harder?

Sleep anxiety doesn't just disrupt sleep. It disrupts your whole life. It affects your productivity, attitude, health, and energy.

What's worse, it feeds off itself. After one night of bad sleep, you put more pressure on yourself to sleep better the next night. But the extra pressure causes worse sleep... and so the cycle continues.

And sleep anxiety can be hard to treat. People often think the problem lies with their sleep. But actually, the problem is the anxiety you experience while awake. To treat sleep anxiety effectively, you need to sink deep into your mind to calm those worries.

What sleep anxiety looks like

Sleep anxiety looks a little different for everyone, but there are certainly some common patterns.

You may beat yourself up because you don't sleep, then put tremendous pressure on yourself to sleep better the next night. You might be a clock watcher who constantly frets over how much time you've got left to sleep. You may worry that you'll have nightmares and start to worry about what horrors you will endure tonight.

So you lie awake half the night, feel exhausted all day, then find yourself right back at the start, stewing over your inability to simply nod off.

You probably wish you could stop obsessing about sleep and just do it. You may have already tried myriad "cures" such as positive thinking, herbs and pills, and exercise, only to find yourself tossing and turning again.

Luckily, no matter how your sleep anxiety manifests, hypnotherapy offers a way to break free from the thought patterns that keep you awake at night.

How hypnotherapy can help

As you relax and listen in your session, you'll notice that you:

  • Feel calmer when you think about sleeping

  • Form more positive expectations around sleep

  • Can detach from any unhelpful thoughts around sleep

  • Feel more refreshed and alert when you get up in the morning

  • Feel happier and more relaxed in general.

Coming Out of Depression

mind body soul spirit with kimberley depression.jpg

How Hypnotherapy can lift the dark clouds and give you a break from the darkness

Why is it when you are depressed you simply can't see any way out?

Why do things always appear at their worst, even if you know things look better at other times?

The reason is that depression exhausts your brain, and so makes you interpret reality in black or white, extreme and negative ways.

Depression, or 'nervous exhaustion'

Depression is exhaustion brought about by an incredibly stressful or emotional time. Over-worrying and over-analysing, inward-looking negative rumination all cause and maintain depression.

One way to get a quick break from this onslaught is to get deep relaxation. This can give your brain the rest it needs and partially restore your depleted resources. Regular relaxation can help lift depression as part of a wider depression treatment program.

How hypnosis can help with depression

During the session, you'll first notice how deeply you relax (depressed people often relax faster and deeper than anyone else because their brain is so in need of it).

Then, you'll start to see things in more optimistic ways, perhaps just a glimmer at first, then more and more as you continue to use the session.

And as you continue to use the uplifting hypnosis session, the cumulative effect of repeated deep relaxation and positive suggestion will help you feel more energized and positive in a more general way.
